Gunning Skiff

The Gunning Skiff, also known as a "rail skiff" was locally built in the Patuxent River area around the early 1900's. The skiff was pushed around in the marshes with a long pole. The skiff is long and narrow so that it could move around the shallow inlets where the passages were tight.
