The Massey Ferguson 135 is a 2WD, 3-cylinder, diesel tractor that was manufactured by Massey Ferguson between 1964 and 1975. It was the first of the MF100 range, and was a successor to the MF35. The MF135 was a popular tractor, and was used for a variety of tasks, including general farm work, cultivating, and pulling trailers.
The MF135 was powered by a 2.5L Perkins AD3.152 3-cylinder diesel engine that produced 45hp. It had a 6-speed transmission (3+1, high/low range) with a mechanical clutch. Later versions (1970 onwards) came with an 8 speed transmission (4 forward & 1 reverse across two ranges, high and low). There was a multi-power option giving 12 forward and 4 reverse gears, plus a hydraulic clutch.
It was built in the Banner Lane factory Coventry with the original design of rear 3 point rear linkage and plough draft control by Harry Ferguson.
The MF135 was a popular tractor, and was well-respected for its reliability and durability. It was also relatively inexpensive, which made it a good choice for farmers on a budget. The MF135 is still a popular tractor today, and is often used by enthusiasts and collectors.
This 1:76 replica comes in bright red with white roof and exhaust stack and black interior. The wheels are silver and the engine is coloured a blue grey. Note the Massey Ferguson 135 lettering along the sides above the engine and the Massey Ferguson marque on the front grille. The model will be a favourite for all the many farm model enthusiasts, young and old, for whom tractors hold a life-long fascination.
